Administration

NWESD coordinates and supports a variety of activities and sites. We continually examine and evaluate existing and potential services so that we can best serve your needs.

As a goal, our focus is on facilitating responsible management and visionary leadership, while encouraging communication and cooperation with other agencies.


Listed below are administration programs and services that we can offer school districts and staff:

Certification
Certification specialist provides assistance to individuals seeking certification, evaluates applications, issues temporary permits, and forwards certification materials to OSPI.

Resource Development
NWESD provides grant writing services, which are available to seek and obtain funds from public and private sources.

Construction Management
Construction Services Group (CSG) provides a full range of school construction management related services. Services from “conception to completion” are available through a NWESD and ESD 112 partnership:
  • Project management
  • Construction management
  • Building commissioning
  • Constructability reviews

Regional Committee on School
District Organization

This Committee reviews and processes requests to realign school district boundaries and non-high school district participation in bonds.

Legal Services Co-operative
NWESD provides an attorney to provide cooperative member districts with legal advice on many aspects of school law.

Professional Development Coordinating Council
A representative council from all areas of the NWESD service area meets regularly to:

Clock Hour Approval/Management
School districts may obtain clock hour approval for professional development activities provided to employees. This service includes:

  • Proposal review/approval
  • Evaluation of activity
  • Transcript preparation and storage
NWESD provides fingerprinting services using digital technology to create high-quality prints that are then transmitted directly to the Washington State Patrol.

School Board Support
On-going training and support to superintendents and school boards.
  • School board/superintendent relations
  • School board/superintendent evaluations
  • School board long-range planning/goal setting
  • Certificate of Appointment or Election of School District Director (Form SPI 282)

Forums for advice and training of district leadership:

  • Superintendent advisory council
  • Advice for superintendent school districts regarding issues such as education reform, finance, and personnel

Citizen Complaint/Referrals
Citizens complaints are processed through the appropriate agency, including investigation of possible violations of the Code of Professional Conduct.

Traffic Safety Education
School districts may contract with NWESD to provide Traffic Safety Education to students.
